Since going live on 1st February 2015, we have made remarkable progress securing many of the

major players in the Johannesburg, Pretoria, Ekhuruleni and Cape Town Metered Taxi industry.

We now have close to 300 taxis registered on the Taxify taxi network system.

Taxi User downloads of the ordering App is fast approaching 500. The competition that we are

running for Users to win 2 tickets to the Michael Buble concerts in Durban, Cape Town or

Johannesburg, for getting 10 of their friends to download the App, is the main contributor. To

enter, Users need to visit the Taxify South Africa Facebook page: In addition, we are offering Users a 50% discount on every

3rd trip they order using the Taxify App during the month of March. We are monitoring orders,

and will notify taxis when specific users have completed 2 trips, so that they can claim 50% of

the value of the 3rd trip from Taxify. Competitions and promotions will continue monthly to

encourage taxi users to use Taxify.

The first 10 drivers to complete 3 orders received via the App in March will each win R1,000. All

they need to do is, keep the Driver App open on “Waiting for Orders” and complete 3 orders. It

must be noted that Drivers will only receive orders directly from clients and via the

Despatch system, if they have the Driver App online and in the “Waiting for Orders” status

on their smartphones.

During our first month, there were 219 orders processed via the taxi ordering App. Unfortunately,

105 of the orders went directly to Taxi company call centres. This was because there were no

taxis online in the vicinity of the User needing a taxi. When no taxis are online or in the vicinity

of a taxi user requiring a taxi, Users are directed to the call centres of taxi companies registered

on the Taxify taxi network. This is why it is crucial that drivers are online to deliver an efficient

service to users requiring taxi services.

Should it be necessary to train or re-train Management, Despatchers and Drivers to use the Taxify

App, please send us a request. We budget for 4 half hour sessions with Management, Despatchers

and Drivers in your organisation to receive training to download and use the application. Those

not able to attend the scheduled training sessions are welcome to come to our offices for training

which will be charged at R150 per hour or part thereof per training session. It is important that

Management and Despatchers receive training to maintain your own database on the system as

you will need to add and delete drivers as they come and go. You will also have real-time view of

your Drivers and business. The Admin Panel has a number of valuable statistics and information

to assist you to make informed business decisions.

Our marketing campaign has started in earnest, and we have received huge public and media

responses to the App. Press releases have been published in the Mail & Guardian, ITWeb,

JHBLive, What’sOn and other Social Media platforms. We have been interviewed by journalists

Taxify has also undertaken various promotion activities. Promotions were done in Greenside,

Braamfontein, Maboneng, Fourways, Pineslopes, Rivonia, Melville and Rosebank. These

promotions will continue at least twice a month in different venues. During these promotions, we

have university students wearing Taxify T-Shirts, engaging with pedestrians and patrons of

restaurants, bars and clubs. They explain the Taxify App, assist people to download the App and

give out Taxify business cards. We also engage with the management of these businesses to

distribute Taxify business cards to their patrons and place Taxify stickers in their bar areas and

bathrooms. Business cards are also placed on parked vehicles.

We request taxis to assist us with promotion activities. They are paid by Taxify for driving

around the promotion venues with Taxify stickers on their cars for 30 minutes. In addition, they

get business by associating themselves with the promotion activities.

These promotion activities have been very successful so far. There is always a spike in User

downloads and definite repeat business emanating from these venues. Promotion activities are

planned for Ekhuruleni, Pretoria and Cape Town in March.

Taxify has developers constantly upgrading the App and we will update you with latest

improvements as they are completed. Due to public demand, the App will available on the

Windows OS platform towards the end of March. A beta version is currently being tested.
